Tyler Cameron's Fiancée Encourages Intimate Dancing on 'DWTS'
The 'Dancing with the Stars' contestant shared that his fiancée, Tate Madden, has given him explicit permission to be physically expressive with his dance partner, Sharna Burgess.
Tyler Cameron, a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars," revealed that his fiancée, Tate Madden, has given him her full support for engaging in intimate choreography on the show. Cameron, 33, stated that Madden encourages him to be physically expressive with his professional dance partner, Sharna Burgess.
"She’s like, ‘Touch her. Touch her leg. Do what you’re supposed to do in the dance. Don’t be a prude little middle-schooler,’ which I tend to act like sometimes,” Cameron said during a rehearsal break. He added that Madden understands the performance aspect, as she was a dancer herself.
Cameron, who gained prominence as a contestant on Hannah Brown’s season of “The Bachelorette” in 2019, met Madden, a photographer, in 2022. They announced their engagement in August. Madden, 33, has been supporting Cameron in his "Dancing with the Stars" journey.
Burgess, 41, noted that Cameron often practices his moves with either himself or Madden when not rehearsing. Cameron, who played football and took ballet and jazz classes at Wake Forest University, found that his past dance experience did not significantly help him on the show.
He also maintains contact with his former Wake Forest football teammates, who provide commentary on his performances. His "Bachelor" franchise co-star and former teammate, Matt James, who previously competed on "Dancing with the Stars," offered Cameron advice focusing on enjoying the experience in Los Angeles.
Following his participation in "Dancing with the Stars," Cameron is set to film an HGTV series titled “Let’s Go Back to Your Place,” which he described as a blend of a dating show and a home tour program. He also plans to actively participate in wedding planning, aiming to fulfill Madden's dream wedding vision, whether it involves building a venue or having a destination wedding.
Cameron also intends to enlist Burgess's help for the couple's first dance at their wedding, aiming to avoid a lackluster performance after his "Dancing with the Stars" experience.
