Two Women Arrested in California for Allegedly Stalking ICE Agents

Two women in Santa Ana, California, were arrested on Wednesday after being accused by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents of stalking and harassing them. The arrests occurred after the agents reported being followed by a vehicle containing the two women.

Santa Ana police took Madison Crabill, 25, and Adilene Tonoco, 33, into custody. According to authorities, the pair allegedly followed off-duty federal agents who had just concluded an immigration operation in La Habra. Reports indicate the women may have blocked the agents' vehicle, run two red lights, and used a megaphone to shout obscenities towards officers outside a police station.

Family members and supporters gathered outside the Santa Ana City Jail on Thursday to advocate for the release of Crabill and Tonoco. John Crabill, father of Madison Crabill, expressed pride in his daughter's actions, stating she was standing up for constitutional rights. The attorney for the two women argued that observing ICE agents is a constitutionally protected activity and does not constitute stalking unless there is an intent to harm.

Santa Ana is recognized as Orange County's sole sanctuary city, a designation that signifies its refusal to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. This incident follows another recent arrest in Santa Ana, where a resident named Jackie Cordova was apprehended by federal agents during an early morning ICE watch.
