Two Teen Girls Arrested in Alleged Revenge Plot at Southern California High School
Authorities uncovered a detailed plan for a mass shooting motivated by revenge, involving research into obtaining firearms.
Two 15-year-old girls have been arrested in connection with an alleged plot to carry out a revenge-based attack at Corona High School in Southern California. Police indicated the plot was not a fleeting thought but involved extensive planning.
According to Corona Police Department Lt. Robert Montanez, the girls made specific plans for how they intended to execute the attack. Investigators revealed that the teenagers spent months researching how to obtain firearms, looking into gun purchase regulations and online acquisition methods, despite their age.
The FBI flagged the girls' social media discussions to local law enforcement, which led to the arrests. One of the suspects was taken into custody on October 6, with the second arrested on October 20.
Lt. Montanez stated that the motivation behind the alleged plot was revenge, and that the planning was serious and not a casual conversation. The investigation is ongoing.
