Two men were stabbed in the back by an assailant who was not known to them early Thursday morning, a few blocks from Times Square, law enforcement officials said. The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. on Eighth Avenue near West 46th Street in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood.

Both victims, aged 28 and 31, sustained back injuries. The younger victim was reportedly stabbed multiple times. Authorities stated the attacker, described as wearing a baseball cap, was not known to either victim and the dispute’s origin remains unclear.

Emergency services transported both individuals to Bellevue Hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition. As of Thursday, no arrests had been made in connection with the stabbing, according to officials. The investigation is ongoing.
