Two men have been charged with murder in connection with the death of a 27-year-old man who was punched while cycling in Leicester. George Glover died three days after the incident, which authorities have described as a violent and unprovoked attack.

Chae Smith, 31, and Joshua Cook, 24, face charges of murder and robbery. Smith is also charged with possession of a bladed article. Louise O'Connor, 39, has been charged with one count of robbery.

The attack occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Monday on Narborough Road. Glover was found by a member of the public and taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he later died from his injuries. The assault left him with life-threatening injuries.

In a statement, Glover's family described him as a "much-loved son and big brother to his three siblings." They noted his hardworking nature and simple lifestyle, which included enjoying gaming and assembling bicycle parts. He was remembered as being loving, loyal, and possessing a good sense of humor, with interests in Anime, Lego, and Pokémon cards.

"His loss is already felt so deeply," the family said. "He was a hardworking, focused young man who worked so hard to get a job he loved and enjoyed."

The family also expressed pride in the young man Glover had become, noting that he had overcome early life challenges. "We know there are so many people who'll miss him as he was held in such high regard," they added.

Detective Inspector Kevin Hames stated that the attack was "violent and unprovoked."
