Two Latvian men have been arrested under the National Security Act after a fence was breached at a Royal Air Force (RAF) base in Cambridgeshire. The Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) and Cambridgeshire Constabulary responded after an abandoned vehicle was discovered near a perimeter fence at RAF Molesworth around 10 p.m. BST on Wednesday.
Several hours later, a small breach in the perimeter fence was identified. The two men, aged 36 and 32, were subsequently arrested within the base's perimeter. The specific details of their alleged actions or intentions have not been released. The National Security Act allows for the arrest and detention of individuals suspected of activities that could harm national security.
