Two people were killed and four others sustained serious injuries when a car struck a group of pedestrians before colliding with other vehicles on the wrong side of the road. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Sunday on White Rose Way in Doncaster.

Authorities responded to reports of a multi-vehicle crash and found that a black Mitsubishi L200 had struck four pedestrians while traveling down the carriageway. The vehicle then proceeded to collide head-on with a black Audi and a silver BMW on the opposite side of the road.

Emergency services, including paramedics and the air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene. Despite their efforts, two pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene. Four other individuals were transported to a hospital with serious, though not life-threatening, injuries.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 30-year-old man, was taken into custody. He faces charges including two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and driving while unfit. He has since been released on bail.

South Yorkshire Police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are appealing for witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage to come forward. They can be contacted by calling 101 or via their website, referencing incident number 345 of September 13, 2026. The road remained closed in both directions for over 12 hours following the collision but has since reopened.
