Two Injured in Halloween Night Shooting Outside Fresno Nightclub

A shooting outside MIA Nightclub in Fresno, California, on Sunday morning left two individuals with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The incident occurred at approximately 12:18 a.m. as patrons were participating in a Halloween-themed "zombie crawl" event.

Responding officers heard nine gunshots and located the two victims in front of the nightclub. A third person sustained injuries during the disturbance but did not require medical attention. The two initial victims were transported to Community Regional Medical Center and are listed in stable condition.

Police identified the suspect as a 16-year-old juvenile and arrested him on suspicion of attempted murder. According to the Fresno Police Department, detectives determined that a physical altercation had taken place between two groups of individuals as they passed the nightclub. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly produced a firearm and began shooting. The suspect reportedly dropped a 9mm handgun at the scene and fled.

Authorities apprehended the juvenile later that night in Fowler after conducting an hour-long "surround and call-out" operation. The suspect was taken to the Fresno County Juvenile Justice Center.

MIA Nightclub released a statement following the shooting, urging the community to unite against violence and reclaim the neighborhood.

This incident is the latest in a series of violent events in the Tower District. Approximately two weeks prior, 28-year-old Tyrone Miles was fatally shot outside the same nightclub. Security footage from that event showed a group arguing before the attack.

In September, another shooting occurred in the Tower District, prompting frustration among local business owners. Lewis Everek, owner of Everek Hospitality Group, expressed his disappointment with the recurring violence, stating, "To see it at your front door, in a place that’s beloved by the community to see this type of violence happen, it’s very disheartening and discouraging to the city as well as the tower district."
