Two Helicopters Collide Mid-Air in Oregon

Emergency responders in Oregon are heading to the site of a mid-air collision involving two helicopters. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon near McMinnville Municipal Airport.

Dispatch audio obtained by KGW indicated that the two helicopters collided. An aircraft emergency was declared at 2:09 p.m. according to the Yamhill Communications Agency. The McMinnville Fire District confirmed that all of its crews are at the scene. The Oregon Department of Transportation reported that Route 223 was closed one mile west of Dayton, warning that the closure could be extended.

It remains unclear if there were any fatalities or injuries as a result of the crash. This is a developing story.
