Two men died within approximately 24 hours of each other at the Burning Man festival, organizers announced. The annual event in the Nevada desert draws tens of thousands of attendees.

One of the deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Craigh Mann, who was found dead by campmates at his Black Rock City camp on Saturday afternoon, September 5. The Burning Man Project confirmed Mann's death, expressing condolences to his family and friends.

A day prior, another participant in his mid-50s died after experiencing a medical emergency. Organizers stated that lifesaving measures were administered before the individual was taken to the festival's onsite emergency care center, where they were pronounced dead. The name of this participant has not been released, as his family had not yet been notified.

Organizers emphasized that the safety and well-being of the community and staff remain a top priority and that support resources were available around the clock. The Burning Man festival began on August 30 and was scheduled to conclude on Monday. The event, known for the burning of a large wooden effigy, typically attracts up to 80,000 people, referred to as "burners."
