Two people were killed and two others were injured in a single-vehicle crash on the southbound I-5 Freeway in Anaheim early Thursday morning. The collision, which occurred around 3:15 a.m. near Lincoln Avenue, led to significant traffic disruptions and lane closures during the busy rush hour commute.
Authorities believe the vehicle may have missed an exit before crashing approximately 15 feet down an embankment adjacent to the freeway. Four individuals were in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert due to the closure of two southbound lanes.
The crash forced the closure of multiple lanes, causing extensive delays for drivers attempting to travel through the area. Emergency services responded to the scene, and an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
