Two Dead, Five Hospitalized in Seven-Vehicle Collision in Oxnard
A multi-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon resulted in two fatalities and multiple injuries, with wreckage scattered across the highway.
Two people were killed and five others were hospitalized following a severe seven-vehicle collision in Oxnard on Friday afternoon. The crash occurred around 4 p.m. near Victoria and Doris avenues.
Emergency responders arriving at the scene discovered seven victims. Two individuals were pronounced dead at the location.
Of the five survivors, four were transported to area hospitals. One person sustained serious injuries, two had moderate injuries, and another suffered minor injuries. The seventh victim received treatment at the scene and was released.
Video footage from the scene showed extensive vehicle damage and debris spread across the highway. Some reports indicated that fallen light poles were also present at the crash site.
The Oxnard Police Department is leading the investigation into the cause of the collision.
