Two people died and 35 others were injured at a block party early Sunday morning in Vienna, Georgia, according to state law enforcement officials. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation stated that deputies from the Dooly County Sheriff's Office were present at the neighborhood event around 1:25 a.m. when gunfire erupted.
Deputies discovered two individuals deceased at the scene and multiple others with gunshot wounds. Officials have not specified the exact number of people who sustained gunshot injuries among the 35 injured, nor have they detailed the nature or severity of those injuries. The injured were transported to several area hospitals for treatment, the GBI reported.
Autopsies are pending for the two deceased victims, the bureau added.
