Two individuals, identified as illegal immigrants Khan Agah and Noorullah Ahmdzai, have been convicted of rape and other offenses following a brutal attack in a London park. The incident occurred on August 16 of the previous year in Barking Park, east London, where the victims were stargazing on a first date.
During the assault, which took place around 11 p.m., the two men overpowered the couple. Ahmdzai raped the woman while Agah held a knife to the woman's date's throat, threatening to kill him if he attempted to contact the police. The attackers then switched roles. Prosecutors described the attack as a "terrifying knife point rape" and a "harrowing attack."
Ahmdzai, 26, arrived in the UK illegally via a small boat in August 2023 and was initially housed in a London hotel by the Home Office. His asylum claim was later rejected, and he began working on a building site in Liverpool while appealing the decision before returning to London. Agah also entered the UK illegally, though the specifics of his arrival remain unclear.
Ahmdzai falsely claimed that the victim had offered to have sex with them for £20, but the jury rejected his account. The court heard that the victim was not treated as a human being by her attackers but as an "object they could use and abuse."
Following a trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Agah and Ahmdzai were convicted of two counts of rape, two charges of threatening with a knife, one count of assault by penetration, and one count of false imprisonment. The Mail successfully argued for Agah to be named, overturning a temporary reporting restriction that had been imposed due to uncertainty about his age.
Home Office guidance suggests the pair should be deported because their sentences are expected to exceed one year. The judge warned the convicted men that they faced "lengthy custodial sentences" and ordered dangerousness reports to be prepared for both. A report to establish Agah's age has also been requested.
