Two prominent business owners, Charles Romer, 65, and Jennifer Luzzi, 59, both of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, died Saturday evening after their boat crashed into a peninsula on Lake Havasu and then landed in a campsite.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Division of Boating Safety received reports of a boating collision around 7:08 p.m. near Cattail Cove State Park. Deputies who responded to the scene discovered a 2019 36-foot Douglas Marine boat overturned on land on the Arizona side of the lake.

Romer and Luzzi were found unresponsive near the wreckage and were pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by deputies and firefighters from San Bernardino County and Lake Havasu City. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the cause of the crash or any contributing factors.
