Two individuals have been arrested on suspicion of murder following a man's death after he fell from a balcony in Salford. Police were called to an address on Liverpool Street shortly after midnight on Saturday. Emergency services responded and transported the man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.

A man initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has now been re-arrested on suspicion of murder. A second man has also been arrested on suspicion of murder. Both remain in police custody and are being questioned by detectives.

Chief Inspector Lee Gridley stated that the investigation is progressing rapidly. "Our thoughts remain with the man's family and friends as they grieve the death of their loved one," Gridley said. "We now have two men in custody, and they are being questioned by detectives. The investigation is progressing at pace, and we have a team of detectives working to establish the full circumstances that led to this tragic incident."

Authorities believe the incident to be isolated and do not believe there is any wider risk to the public. A Home Office post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place today.
