Twiggy's Documentary Premiere Sees A-List Support in Los Angeles
The iconic model and actress celebrated her new self-titled documentary surrounded by famous friends.
Model and actress Twiggy, whose real name is Dame Lesley Lawson, attended the Los Angeles premiere of her new feature documentary on Wednesday. The 76-year-old was joined by a host of famous faces, including actors Hugh Jackman and Dustin Hoffman, as well as musician Ringo Starr.
Jackman was seen posing with Twiggy, with the pair having their arms around each other in a photograph. Hoffman, who is a contributor to the documentary, attended with his wife, Lisa. Starr arrived with his wife, Barbara Bach, and both sported a rock-and-roll aesthetic with sunglasses and leather jackets.
The documentary, directed by Sadie Frost, offers a look into Twiggy's extensive fashion career. It features contributions from various personalities, including Hoffman, Paul McCartney, Charlotte Tilbury, and Joanna Lumley, and delves into her upbringing, career, and personal life.
Twiggy, who rose to fame in the 1960s and was dubbed 'The Face of '66,' reflected on her enduring career, spanning six decades. She shared her approach to staying in shape, mentioning regular Pilates and a balanced diet, and noted her enjoyment of dark chocolate.
Regarding retirement, Twiggy stated she has no plans to stop working, citing her love for modeling, designing, acting, and singing. She is currently working on new music and has been promoting the documentary, which is set for release on VOD, DVD, and in select cinemas on September 22. The film is also slated for international releases in Japan, Australia, and America.
Twiggy also discussed her personal style, noting her long-standing preference for trousers over dresses, which she felt more comfortable in due to her slender figure when she began her career. She continues to favor tailored trouser suits and leather jackets for their comfort and style.
