Twelve Teens Shot After Georgia Birthday Party Disturbance
Gunfire erupted in Macon's Carolyn Crayton Park following an incident at a rented Airbnb.
Twelve teenagers were wounded in a shooting that occurred late Saturday night at Carolyn Crayton Park in Macon, Georgia. The victims, aged 17 to 19, sustained injuries after a large gathering, which originated from a birthday party at a nearby Airbnb, spilled into the park.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began around midnight. Attendees of the party were reportedly asked to leave the Airbnb property, leading them to congregate at the park. A separate group then arrived at the park, and an altercation ensued, culminating in gunfire. Two of the teenagers were left in critical condition, while the remaining ten were reported to be stable.
Bibb County Sheriff David Davis described the event as unusual, stating he could not recall a time when so many individuals had been shot simultaneously.
As of Sunday, no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is providing assistance to local authorities due to the significant number of victims and participants involved in the incident.
