Television presenter Nicola Thorp announced that a close friend, Danny, died unexpectedly in his sleep at the age of 47. Thorp, who is known for her role on Coronation Street and her subsequent transition to journalism and presenting, shared the news on social media.
Danny is survived by his fiancée, Victoria, and their infant daughter, Dani Bear. "He was an incredible father, partner, friend and colleague to so many who thought so much of him," Thorp wrote on social media. She also shared her support for Victoria, describing her as having shown "strength and bravery in the face of unbearable grief."
Victoria's sister initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support Victoria and Dani Bear, aiming to raise £13,000 for immediate expenses, daily living costs, and future childcare needs. The campaign has already surpassed £10,000. The sister's description of the fundraiser emphasized the suddenness of Danny's death and the profound impact it has had on the family, noting that Victoria will face the challenge of raising Dani Bear without her partner and provider.
"Dani Bear was quite simply the apple of his eye. He absolutely adored her and she adored her daddy," the sister wrote. The fundraiser also aims to cover any counseling, therapy, or bereavement support that may be beneficial for Victoria and Dani Bear during their difficult time. Thorp has been a regular commentator on the television program "This Morning" since 2020 and has also co-hosted "Talk Today" on TalkTV.
