Tucker Carlson Recounts Trump's Alleged Response to Israel Pushing Iran War

Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson recounted a private conversation with former President Donald Trump regarding the decision to engage in a war with Iran. Carlson told NPR that he believed Israel was the driving force behind the conflict and expressed shock at Trump's alleged response to this assertion.

Carlson claimed that during a meeting in the Oval Office, he presented Trump with the idea that the war was not initiated by Iran's nuclear program, which Trump had previously claimed to have eliminated. Instead, Carlson suggested that Israel was pushing the United States into the conflict. According to Carlson, Trump agreed with this assessment, responding, "yes, you’re right. But in the end, we all die anyway. So it doesn’t matter."

Carlson also stated that Trump should have been removed from office via the 25th Amendment after threatening nuclear war, a sentiment he has expressed previously. He argued that threatening nuclear war is a grave crime that warrants immediate removal.

Trump has previously made aggressive statements regarding Iran. In 2018, he threatened to use nuclear weapons against North Korea. More recently, he stated at the U.N. General Assembly that he might "annihilate" Iran if a resolution was not reached to end the ongoing war.

HuffPost reached out to the White House for comment on Carlson's account, but received no immediate response. When NPR made a similar inquiry, the White House reportedly responded by calling Carlson and others "stupid people" in a social media post from the president.
