TSA Officers Discover 'Horror Movie' Object at Seattle Airport

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) discovered a striking object resembling Wolverine-style claws or Freddy Krueger blades during a routine security screening. The unusual item was found in a passenger's carry-on bag.

Officer Douglas Linn described the object as having "three blades and distinct claw-like features," noting it was one of the most unusual items he had encountered in his two years with the TSA. Officer Dennis Oishi, who performed the bag search, confirmed the presence of the dangerous object.

Responded Supervisory TSA Officer Ann Rhoades stated, "In my seven years with TSA, this is one of the most unusual items I have encountered. My first thought was, ‘Oh my gosh,’ and my second thought was, ‘Is this what I think it is?’" When asked if there was anything sharp in the bag, the passenger reportedly said he was unsure. The object was voluntarily removed from the bag by the passenger.

Robert Spinden, Seattle TSA's federal security director, commended the officers' vigilance, teamwork, and professionalism. He stated, "Their actions prevented a prohibited item from moving beyond the checkpoint and reinforced the importance of careful screening, clear coordination and calm execution." He added, "I’m proud of their attention to detail and their commitment to keeping the traveling public safe."

This discovery follows other recent unusual finds by the TSA. In a separate incident at Watertown International Airport in upstate New York, officers found a spent smoke grenade inside an aerosol container in a passenger's carry-on bag. At Tampa International Airport, a 4-inch, double-edged knife was discovered concealed within a baseball bat-shaped flashlight.
