Trump Welcomes Back Controversial Operative Laura Loomer, Emphasizes Loyalty
The investigative journalist, known for scrutinizing figures for loyalty, traveled with Trump on Air Force One and Marine One and presented him with a list of perceived disloyal administration officials.
Donald Trump recently spotlighted Laura Loomer, an investigative journalist and Republican operative, during a campaign rally in Alabama, signaling her return to his inner circle. Trump described Loomer as a "great Republican strategist, a great person, a killer," adding that "when she’s angry at you, it’s a very terrible situation."
Loomer, who is known for publicly and privately challenging individuals she perceives as disloyal to Trump, traveled with the former president on Air Force One and Marine One. During the trip, she carried a list of officials she believes are undermining Trump's agenda, a practice that has reportedly caused apprehension among Washington insiders and administration staff.
"I always come with a list," Loomer told the Daily Mail in an exclusive interview. She stated the list, comprising approximately ten individuals from the Department of Justice, the Department of State, and the National Security Council, is part of her ongoing effort to identify and remove "questionable characters" from the administration.
According to Loomer, "personnel is policy," and she has discussed "vetting concerns and some personnel choices that are concerning and alarming to me" with Trump. The Daily Mail reported that Trump has previously acted on similar lists, having fired six National Security Council officials in April 2025 after a meeting with Loomer.
Trump commented on Loomer's influence, stating, "Despite the many people who complain about Laura Loomer, for the most part she is always right." Loomer was accompanied on the trip by other individuals described as close to Trump, including Natalie Harp and Bill Pulte, Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
Loomer addressed past criticisms, including accusations that she misled Trump, leading to his controversial remarks about Haitian migrants. Despite such instances, Trump has defended her as a "supporter" and a "free spirit."
While Loomer prefers to operate outside the administration to maintain her freedom of speech and action, she indicated a willingness to serve if directly asked by the president, even for a position like White House press secretary.
Her efforts to gain official press credentials for the White House, particularly a seat in the "New Media" section, have been unsuccessful. Loomer attributed this to "petty low level staff with a power complex." However, a White House official told the Daily Mail that Loomer is a "valued ally" and that plans are in place to grant her and her organization access to the press briefing room.
Loomer also shared personal anecdotes about her travel with Trump, noting she has a designated seat on Air Force One and Marine One, where they shared Starburst candies. "I got the Laura Loomer seat," she said. "So I guess that’s better. I get to hang out and eat Starbursts with the president."
