Trump Weighs Escalation Against Iran After Unexpected White House Return
The President indicated significant actions are imminent as he considers striking Iran, following a shortened trip to Camp David.
President Donald Trump is contemplating escalatory strikes against Iran, a decision that comes after an unannounced return to the White House from Camp David over the weekend.
Trump stated in an interview with Fox News on Sunday that "some Iranian officials are in hiding, and we can't find anyone capable of striking a deal." He indicated that he is in "deciding mode" and that "very big things" are expected concerning the conflict between the United States and Iran.
"My question is, if and when do I blow the entire nation up?" Trump told Fox News, adding, "They better behave."
This development occurs as Trump prepares to attend the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York. He mentioned that he would "probably be open" to a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during the assembly.
Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth asserted on Saturday evening that "Central Command will be busy tonight because President Trump said we will be hitting Iran HARD, AND WE WILL BE!"
