Former President Donald Trump declared on Wednesday that the United States has launched what he described as the "most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country," aiming to isolate Iran through economic warfare and isolation.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump stated that any nation allowing its financial institutions, businesses, airports, or government entities to offer Iran a "lifeline" would itself confront "tremendous economic consequences."

Trump outlined specific areas of concern, including oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, and front companies, demanding that "It all needs to stop NOW."

He characterized the initiative as an "economic D-Day" and called for allies to join the U.S. in isolating and defeating what he termed the "Iran threat." Trump asserted that Iran is "on the ropes" and that these "historic measures will cripple them and their ability to project terror worldwide."

The announcement comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, with concerns about Iran's regional activities and its potential impact on international trade routes. The operation aims to sever any financial or material support that could enable Iran to continue its alleged support for terrorism and destabilizing actions.
