President Donald Trump will serve as the "Honorary Chairman" for the PGA's Presidents Cup golf tournament, the White House announced on Saturday. The announcement was also posted by Trump on his Truth Social platform.
The Presidents Cup, a biennial golf competition that pits a team of U.S. players against an international squad (excluding European players who compete in the Ryder Cup), is scheduled to be held from September 22-27 at Medinah Country Club in Chicago.
"This will be a particularly exciting event. Both teams are ‘loaded’ with Talent," Trump stated in remarks about the upcoming tournament. The event comes days after Trump is expected to travel to Ireland to host the Irish Open at his Doonbeg golf course.
