President Donald Trump is slated to deliver an "entertaining" speech at the rescheduled White House Correspondents' Dinner on Friday, July 24. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the president's address will be a blend of "unifying yet vicious, and serious yet hilarious."

The annual dinner, traditionally held at the Washington Hilton, was abruptly ended on April 25 when an armed individual, identified as Cole Allen, discharged a firearm during the event. Secret Service agents immediately evacuated the president and the first lady as guests sought cover.

Trump himself commented on the rescheduling in June via Truth Social, calling the decision to proceed a "very good thing in that we cannot allow Lunatics to change our way of life, or even its scheduling." He also hinted at the possibility of delivering "rather nasty statements, at least as it concerns certain people."

While First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will not attend due to prior engagements, several Cabinet officials are expected to be present. These include FBI Director Kash Patel, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

The White House Correspondents' Association Dinner is a long-standing event that brings together members of the White House press corps, the president, and other government officials.
