Trump to Campaign With Blakeman in Upstate New York
President Donald Trump is scheduled to join Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman for a campaign event in Syracuse on October 9.
President Donald Trump is set to campaign with Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman in upstate New York next week, according to sources. Trump is scheduled to appear with Nassau County Executive Blakeman in Syracuse on October 9 for an event.
Sources indicated that Trump may also consider additional campaign stops in upstate New York later in October. Trump endorsed Blakeman late last year, describing him as a "fantastic guy" who would "win the big November election."
Recent polling on the gubernatorial race has shown differing results. One poll indicated that Blakeman has narrowed Governor Kathy Hochul's lead to a few percentage points upstate, with the candidates tied at 47-44. However, a separate poll from Quinnipiac University showed Hochul maintaining a significant lead over Blakeman, 58% to 39%.
