Trump Staffer Britt McHenry Throws Drink at Fan, Booed at NBA Game
Former ESPN host and current State Department press advisor Britt McHenry was involved in a confrontation at a Washington Wizards game.
Britt McHenry, a former ESPN host who recently joined the Trump administration as a U.S. State Department press advisor, was involved in an incident at the Washington Wizards' season opener on Wednesday night. Viral footage shows McHenry throwing a drink at a fan and subsequently being booed as she exited the Capital One Arena.
According to reports from TMZ and Page Six, the confrontation occurred after fans seated behind McHenry allegedly made disparaging remarks about Kyle Kuzma, the fiancée of Wizards player Kyle Kuzma, Winnie Harlow. Sources claim the remarks included comments about Harlow's appearance and Kuzma's performance on the court. McHenry reportedly intervened in response to these comments, leading to the escalation that resulted in the drink being thrown.
As McHenry left the arena, other fans appeared to throw projectiles at her. The video captured her blowing kisses and waving to the crowd upon exiting. Further interaction was observed with arena staff in the concourse, though a source close to McHenry told TMZ that she was not ejected and left voluntarily.
The State Department has not yet commented on the incident. McHenry joined the Trump administration last month.
