Former President Donald Trump ignited controversy with a recent social media post that depicted him with his head superimposed over a globe, accompanied by the text "His Hemisphere."

The image surfaced days after the United States finalized an agreement with Denmark to expand the U.S. military presence in Greenland. Trump has previously expressed a long-standing interest in acquiring Greenland, even suggesting he wanted to make it a U.S. state during his previous term.

Officials in Greenland have consistently stated that the island is not for sale and has no desire to become part of the United States. A pro-Trump candidate in a past Greenlandic election also failed to gain significant traction.

While the recent U.S.-Denmark deal appears to satisfy Trump's objective of a strengthened American military footprint in the region without altering Greenland's semi-autonomous status, the "His Hemisphere" post was met with strong backlash on social media platform X.

Critics denounced the post, with some calling it indicative of a "sick" and "unhinged, corrupt egomaniac" who disregards the Constitution. Others expressed concern that such rhetoric signals a lack of control and questioned the media's portrayal of these statements as normal.
