Trump Silenced by Heckler at Mississippi Rally Over White House Ballroom Project

Former President Donald Trump's rally in Corinth, Mississippi, was momentarily halted Monday night when a heckler shouted a crude insult regarding his White House ballroom project. The interruption occurred as Trump was speaking at the Crossroads Arena as part of his midterm campaign efforts.

Footage from the event shows Trump pausing his remarks after the heckler yelled, "Shove that ballroom up your fat a**." Trump responded to the disruption by saying, "Oh, go home," before resuming his speech to cheers and a chant of "USA, USA, USA."

Trump then suggested the heckler was a "paid protester," claiming such individuals are paid to demonstrate. The heckler's comment appeared to reference the controversial construction of a new ballroom at the White House, a project that has drawn criticism amid rising living costs and an unpopular war with Iran. Trump has previously stated the venue will provide a secure space for large events and save money in the long term.

This incident is one of several disruptions at Trump's recent rallies. Last week, a rally in South Carolina was interrupted by at least six protesters, whom Trump also labeled as "paid" and "losers." Another event in Ohio on October 12 saw a protester with an "Release the Epstein Files" shirt become the subject of a physical altercation before being removed from the venue.

The recent rally interruptions coincide with a public exchange between Trump and former President Barack Obama regarding the White House renovations. Obama had recently quipped that Trump's gold-decorated ballroom looked like "Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory" and described it as larger than the White House itself.

In response to Obama's remarks, Trump, speaking at Joint Base Andrews earlier on Monday and at the Mississippi rally, accused Obama of leaving the White House in a "filthy, dirty and broken" condition. Trump defended his renovations, stating he was surprised by the state of the building and that his work had made it "more beautiful."
