Former President Donald Trump shared an image on his Truth Social platform that appears to be AI-generated, showing his three Democratic presidential rivals wearing red hats that read, “I Lost to Trump.”
The image depicted Hillary Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 election, and Kamala Harris, who is running against him in the 2024 election, with the slogan accurately reflecting their electoral outcomes against Trump. However, the image falsely presented Joe Biden, who defeated Trump in the 2020 election, with the same slogan.
Biden won the 2020 election with over 81.2 million votes compared to Trump's 74.2 million, and also secured the Electoral College victory. Trump has consistently made unsubstantiated claims that the 2020 election was stolen, despite numerous court rulings, election officials, and former members of his own administration refuting these assertions.
The AI-generated image reflects a recurring theme of Trump's election falsehoods and targets his main political opponents.
