Former President Donald Trump announced Thursday that the execution of former Army Maj. Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 people and wounded more than 30 others in the 2009 Fort Hood mass shooting, will not be livestreamed.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump described Hasan as "Terrorists and SCUM." He added that while he believed streaming the execution could serve as a deterrent, "many very good and well meaning people would rather not watch him die."
"He will die, as scheduled, by firing squad, but this event will not be streamed," Trump wrote. He also stated that the immediate families of the victims would have the option to witness the execution in person, emphasizing, "They deserve to witness JUSTICE!"
