Donald Trump has promoted his appearance at the World Cup final through social media posts that exclude the moment he stayed onstage as Spain was awarded the tournament's trophy. The White House initially shared a video on Monday, which Trump later amplified on his Truth Social account. This video shows Trump waving to fans before transitioning to footage of him presenting medals to the Spanish players.

The clip then cuts to the Spanish team celebrating with the trophy. Trump is not visible in this segment, a notable omission given that critics accused him of prolonging his presence during the team's celebration, a move some described as "embarrassing."

Commentators on X, formerly Twitter, reacted to the video's edited nature, with one user suggesting it overlooked "what the entire world saw and laughed at."

Another separate video shared by Trump shows him holding the World Cup trophy alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino as they approach the victorious team. This clip concludes just before Trump joins the team on the side.

These posts represent a small fraction of Trump's social media activity regarding the World Cup final, with only two other posts being shared. In one of those, Trump lauded the tournament as "the Safest and Most Spectacular World Cup in History" and commended Andrew Giuliani, executive director of the White House's World Cup task force, and Infantino for their work.

Reports have suggested that Trump hopes Infantino may become the next secretary-general of the United Nations, a position Infantino has reportedly expressed interest in pursuing.
