President Donald Trump on Sunday night claimed his approval rating had reached a new high of 59%, a statement that is not supported by data from prominent polling organizations. Multiple trackers show his approval rating significantly lower and his disapproval rating higher.
The Economist's polling tracker indicates Trump's disapproval rating at 59% compared to an average approval rating of 36%, placing him 23 percentage points underwater. Similarly, The New York Times' tracker shows his approval rating to be 19 percentage points underwater. RealClearPolling reports his disapproval rating at 56.5%.
Trump also commented on fuel prices, stating they have decreased since the peak during heightened tensions with Iran. While oil prices did see a reduction from their highest point, they remain approximately $1 per gallon higher than before the recent hostilities. Furthermore, renewed conflict with Iran led to an increase in oil prices on Monday.
Critics on social media platform X pointed out the discrepancy between Trump's claims and the available polling data.
