Bill Stepien, who managed Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign, has expressed concern that time is running out for Republicans to improve the political climate before the November midterm elections. Speaking on CNN’s “OutFront” with Erin Burnett, Stepien acknowledged the current economic pressures facing Americans, noting that consumer sentiment is lower than it was during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.

Burnett highlighted that inflation, including rising gas prices, is significantly impacting households. She asked Stepien how Trump could reverse this trend with only 53 days until the midterms. Stepien suggested that Trump is attempting to address what he views as two long-standing issues: trade deficits and the situation in Iran. However, Stepien cautioned that trying to resolve these complex problems within a few months is a significant challenge.

He also noted the administration’s efforts to manage expectations regarding gas prices, recognizing the immediate concern consumers have at the pump. “There is real pain that people are feeling,” Stepien stated, underscoring the economic difficulties faced by many Americans.
