During a rally in Nevada on Wednesday, former President Donald Trump paused his speech to retrieve a young child who had wandered close to the edge of the stage. The incident occurred at the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa in Las Vegas.
Trump had invited a local couple, Sandra and Brad, to join him on stage to discuss the benefits they experienced from his administration's policies, including the no tax on tips and overtime policies, and the new Trump Accounts for children. The couple brought their two young children with them.
As Sandra spoke at the podium, one of the toddlers began to walk toward the end of the stage. Trump, who has five children and eleven grandchildren, quickly stepped in to guide the child back to the center of the stage. He then made a remark comparing the situation to former President Joe Biden's fall during the 2023 U.S. Air Force Academy graduation ceremony, stating, “I don’t want him to be Biden and fall off the stage.” The crowd responded with laughter and cheers.
Following the lighthearted moment, the child's mother, Sandra, who works as a casino waitress, shared that her son wanted to thank Trump. The boy then spoke into the microphone, saying, “Thank you for my Trump Account,” which was met with further applause.
Trump highlighted that Sandra and her husband, a police officer, have saved thousands of dollars due to tax benefits from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. He stated they are investing these savings into Sandra's education and their children's Trump Accounts. The administration's Trump Accounts initiative involves depositing $1,000 into tax-advantaged investment accounts for children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028.
