Trump Reschedules Canceled Rallies in Kansas and Iowa for Election Eve
The White House announced President Trump will hold back-to-back rallies in Kansas and Iowa on Sunday, reversing an earlier cancellation.
President Donald Trump is reviving his canceled rallies in Kansas and Iowa, scheduling them for Sunday, the day before the election. The White House confirmed the decision, stating that the President wants to hold the events to connect with supporters.
"Rallies are back on! President Trump loves his supporters, and in addition to nearly 20 tele-rallies, he will hold back-to-back rallies in Kansas and Iowa on Sunday," the White House said in a statement. The decision follows an earlier cancellation of the planned Saturday appearance in Kansas with Senator Roger Marshall and a Sunday event supporting Iowa Republican Senate candidate Ashley Hinson.
Official messaging from the Republican National Committee had suggested the rallies were canceled because GOP contenders were in strong enough positions to win without additional presidential campaigning. However, this statement contrasted with recent polling data indicating tight races in both states and a continued threat to the Republican Party's control of Congress.
