Former President Donald Trump reported earning over $1 billion from various cryptocurrency ventures, according to new financial filings. These earnings stem from multiple sources, including memecoin sales, equity in stablecoin companies, and other digital asset transactions.
More than $635 million came from his memecoin business, CIC Digital, primarily through royalties generated from a licensing agreement with "Celebration Coins." CIC Digital also held at least $60 million in various cryptocurrencies within digital wallets. Additionally, Trump earned over $196 million from the sale of equity in Stablecoin Holdco.
Another $260 million in income was derived from the sale of interests in the World Liberty Financial (WLF) business. These disclosures come as Trump previously vowed to make the U.S. the “crypto capital of the world” during his administration.
Trump's assets are managed through a trust overseen by his son, Donald Trump Jr. The trust is revocable, meaning Trump retains the authority to modify or dissolve it and to appoint or replace trustees. While the President and Vice President are legally obligated to disclose their income and assets, they are exempt from the ethics regulations that govern conflicts of interest for most executive branch employees.
