Former President Donald Trump reportedly switched planes during his return from a NATO meeting in Turkey last month due to a potential security threat from Iran. U.S. media outlets, including The Washington Post, reported that Trump boarded Air Force One in Ankara on July 8.
He was then allegedly transferred to another aircraft with the assistance of a catering truck before continuing his journey to the United Kingdom. From the UK, Trump is said to have boarded a newer jet, gifted by Qatar, for his return flight to the United States.
Trump spoke with journalists on his flight back to the U.S. but did not confirm or deny the reports of a plane switch. The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the matter. The reports suggest the unusual transfer was a security precaution, aiming to mitigate a perceived threat from Iran.
