Trump Reportedly Planning Major Attack on Iran Post-Midterms

Donald Trump is reportedly planning a significant military operation against Iran, with the potential to launch shortly after the upcoming midterm elections. According to two anonymous U.S. officials who spoke with CNN, the operation would target Iran's energy, nuclear, and military facilities.

US forces are reportedly prepared to execute these new operations within 96 hours of receiving an order from the president. The Department of War has allegedly been quietly deploying additional military resources, indicating preparations for a larger-scale engagement in the Middle East than previously observed.

"It will be a big effort," one of the officials told CNN. While the exact timing remains uncertain, the officials suggested the operation would most likely occur after the midterm elections. Another official indicated that the attack could come at any time.

This news follows Trump's vocal support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom he urged Israelis to re-elect to "finish the job" in Iran. Trump posted on Truth Social, calling Netanyahu an "outstanding warrior prime minister" and stating that "Bibi Netanyahu will never let you down."

Israelis are scheduled to vote on Tuesday in national elections, viewed by many as a referendum on Netanyahu's leadership, particularly following Hamas's October 7, 2023 attack.

The situation in the Middle East has become increasingly precarious for U.S. troops. Last week, intelligence officials issued an unclassified memo warning that Iran had substantially escalated efforts to target U.S. personnel. The memo, sent by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, indicated that lethal plotting against U.S. citizens by Iran had reached advanced stages in the Middle East and other countries.

Responding to questions about a potential strike on Iran on Saturday, President Trump stated, "There's a possibility I will." He also added, "There's also a possibility we'll have a nice big beautiful agreement."

In response to potential escalations, the U.S. has adjusted staffing at several embassies in the Middle East, including those in Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. The U.S. also ordered non-emergency government employees and their families to leave Saudi Arabia earlier in the week.
