Former President Donald Trump has once again advocated for New Mexico to be renamed "New America," asserting on his social media platform, Truth Social, that the state should "immediately change its name to New America." Trump stated that "we are not Mexico, we are the United States of America!"

Trump proposed the name change as a means to bolster patriotism and potentially improve economic conditions, suggesting that "home values and incomes would rise" under the new designation. He also drew a connection between the rebranding idea and his persistent concerns about electoral processes, adding, "Maybe even the Crooked Elections, that New Mexico is known for, would become honest again!"

This is not the first time Trump has put forth this renaming idea. Last month, he shared an AI-generated meme that depicted New Mexico with its name altered to "New America." This followed a pattern of similar suggestions he has made, such as rebranding the Lake of Ontario to the "Lake of America" and the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America."
