Trump Renames AI 'Superintelligence' at UN, Vows to Keep US Lead

President Donald Trump declared on the world stage that the United States is leading in the development of what he termed "superintelligence," a rebranding of artificial intelligence that he asserted will define future global dominance.

Speaking Tuesday at the United Nations General Assembly, Trump told world leaders that the U.S. is growing stronger economically, militarily, and technologically. "From this point forward, all of the United States documents and hopefully the world's will be changed to use the much more accurate term super as opposed to artificial. So it's super intelligence," Trump stated. "Welcome to the new world of superintelligence."

He emphasized the competitive nature of this emerging technology, stating, "Whoever wins super intelligence wins. That's the group that wins. And we're leading now over China by a lot and everyone else. And we're going to keep it that way."

Beyond technological prowess, Trump used his address to advocate for American power and influence globally. He highlighted ongoing efforts regarding Iran, advocating for economic isolation of Tehran and referencing a deal that expands the U.S. military presence in Greenland. Trump predicted that Iran would reach a deal with Washington after the U.S. midterm elections, suggesting the country was waiting for the election outcome. "I believe we'll make a deal right after the election, because it doesn't make sense for them not to," he said. He also stated that U.S. military action had prevented Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and urged European nations to recognize their benefit from this stance.

"I hope the Europeans realize that Iran's goal was to complete their mad dash to a nuclear bomb from behind this conventional ballistic missile shield," Trump remarked. "If they had succeeded, that wicked regime would have been free to spread terror and death forever, knowing that any attempt to stop them would face an arsenal."

Trump also put Cuba on notice, signaling a "fundamental change" following negotiations between Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Cuban officials. "Communism will never be coming to America, but freedom will be coming to Cuba," he declared. Cuban officials reportedly left the room during his remarks calling Cuba a "failed state."

He touted the U.S. economy, describing it as the "envy" of the world with rising jobs, record low poverty, and tax cuts, asserting that "the entire world is being lifted by the wealth, strength, spirit and momentum of a newly energized and a very powerful United States of America."

Addressing international economic policy, Trump criticized the International Maritime Organization for what he called a "secretly establishing a first ever global carbon tax very expensive tax to raise international shipping costs." He stated, "There is no global government. And while I'm president, there will be no global taxes."

Trump also announced a trilateral U.S.-Denmark-Greenland security agreement, stating, "No U.S. adversary will ever be permitted to establish a military presence in Greenland anymore, or make sensitive investments there. Without our express written approval." He added that the U.S. would build two military bases on the island. The administration recently finalized this agreement following months of negotiation.
