Trump Renames AI 'Super Intelligence,' Warns Against Globalist Control
The former president vowed the U.S. would lead in the technology while rejecting international regulatory efforts.
Former President Donald Trump announced his new term for artificial intelligence, referring to it as "super intelligence," during a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday. He declared that the United States would "rein in" the technology if necessary but voiced strong opposition to international regulatory frameworks.
"Whoever wins superintelligence wins. That’s the group that wins," Trump stated. "And we’re leading now over China by a lot and everyone else. And we’re going to keep it that way."
He further emphasized that the U.S. "totally rejects any attempt to construct a globalist scheme to control for the artificial intelligence being spoken of so much — now, here and after, officially called super intelligence."
Trump explained his preference for the term "super intelligence" by noting that the word "artificial" can make the technology sound "fake," when in reality, it is "amazing."
"I’m not going to stifle growth of something that will be bigger than the industrial revolution, many say bigger than the industrial revolution or the internet itself," he continued. "And we will be very careful, and that’s why we have a Department of Justice, and we’ve already used it having to do with this very subject and used it very powerfully."
He added that the Department of Justice had "worked out very well and very quickly," and that "other law enforcement bodies that will rein things in if we have to do that, but we will only encourage superintelligence. We’re going to encourage it, not rein it in."
"We’re going to watch it closely through the Department of Justice. The United States leads the world in superintelligence and will continue," Trump concluded.
