Trump Rally Disrupted by Protesters, Angel Mom Shouted Down

During a midterm election rally in San Antonio, Texas, on Wednesday, protesters disrupted former President Donald Trump's remarks. Approximately a dozen individuals interrupted the rally within the first 45 minutes, leading Trump to accuse them of being "paid protesters" and "enemies of our nation."

The interruptions continued even as Marie Vega, an "angel mom" whose son Javier "Harvey" Vega Jr. was killed by two undocumented immigrants in 2014, took the stage. Vega recounted the incident where her son, a Border Patrol agent, was killed while trying to protect his family from armed robbers. She also spoke about the Second Amendment and what she characterized as Democrats' efforts to strip citizens of their gun rights.

Trump engaged with the protesters, at one point remarking about one individual's appearance. He also used the disruptions to reinforce his immigration platform, stating, "I think he’s probably the greatest attorney general in the history of the state of Texas. He is tough. And he was with us all the way," referring to Republican Senate hopeful Ken Paxton, who joined Trump on stage. Trump characterized Paxton as the "only thing standing between you and the migrant conquest, the invasion you had two years ago."

Trump also targeted Democratic opponent James Talarico, referring to him by a derogatory nickname and labeling him a "fake" and a vegan, a term he noted his wife had corrected his pronunciation of. He also referenced his controversial pardon of Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar, who, along with his wife, had been indicted on federal corruption charges. Trump expressed disappointment that Cuellar remained a Democrat after receiving the pardon.

Additionally, Trump addressed comments made at a previous rally concerning Iran potentially attacking Los Angeles and San Diego, stating that the U.S. would not allow such an event to occur and emphasizing the protection of American cities and the country.
