Trump Rallies in Arizona, Accuses Democrats of Wanting to 'Destroy Our Country'

Former President Donald Trump held a rally in Bullhead City, Arizona, on Wednesday, warning supporters that Democrats aim to "destroy our country" and urging them to vote Republican in the upcoming midterm elections.

With less than three weeks until Election Day, Trump endorsed Republican gubernatorial nominee Rep. Andy Biggs and a slate of other GOP candidates. "On election night, Arizona is going to prove that America does not belong to those who hate it," Trump told the cheering crowd. "America belongs to those who love, love, love, love — love it."

Biggs, who appeared on stage with Trump, referenced the president's February State of the Union address, accusing Democrats of not standing when Trump challenged their commitment to American citizens. "Vote Republican top to bottom," Biggs urged the audience. "Let’s turn Arizona red."

Trump recounted moments from the State of the Union address, including the awarding of the Medal of Honor to retired Navy Capt. E. Royce Williams and recognition of World War II veteran George “Buddy” Taggart. The former president criticized Democrats for not reacting positively to the honorees, stating, "Not one Democrat smiled or clapped." He added, "But that’s what we have. They’ll destroy our country."

The specific incident Trump referred to involved his challenge to lawmakers to affirm that the government's primary duty is to protect American citizens over illegal immigrants. Republicans stood, while many Democrats remained seated. Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania later stated he stood to recognize honored guests, including veterans.

During the rally, Trump also directed personal attacks at Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs, calling her a "low IQ individual." He praised Biggs' running mate, former state Sen. Sine Kerr, for the lieutenant governor position, and endorsed Republican secretary of state candidate Alex Kolodin, referring to him as a "warrior for election integrity."

Trump also offered support for Republican Reps. Paul Gosar, Abe Hamadeh, and Eli Crane, as well as congressional candidate Mark Lamb. The rally featured a tribute to conservative activist Charlie Kirk, with Trump noting it would have been Kirk's 33rd birthday and urging attendees to vote in his honor.
