Trump Rallies Crowd Chanting 'Deport' After Omar Home Searched
President Donald Trump targeted Rep. Ilhan Omar at an Ohio rally, hours after federal agents searched her home as part of a criminal investigation.
President Donald Trump rallied supporters in Youngstown, Ohio, on Monday night, where the crowd began chanting "deport" as he criticized Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. The rally took place hours after federal agents executed a search warrant on Omar's home in connection with a criminal investigation.
During his speech, Trump focused on Omar and the Somali community in Minnesota. "She's a disaster. She comes in from a country without laws, without police, without military. All they do is shoot each other, and she comes into our country and she says, 'I have a constitutional right,'" Trump said, referencing the congresswoman's immigration background.
Trump also referenced recent incidents in Minnesota, including a shooting at a high school homecoming event and the arrest of a Somali immigrant accused of plotting an attack on the Mall of America. "This is not what we want in this country. We don't want this," Trump stated as the "deport" chants began.
Sources close to the investigation told Fox News Digital that the search of Omar's home was related to a criminal fraud investigation into her immigration paperwork, reportedly filled out by her late father. A spokesperson for the Department of Justice confirmed that Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant as part of an ongoing federal investigation, which they later specified was "criminal" in nature.
Omar addressed the search on X, formerly Twitter, stating, "Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement." She added that Trump's actions were "the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation" and vowed not to be silenced.
