Former President Donald Trump posted an artificial intelligence-generated video on Truth Social that portrays him as a doctor treating celebrities who have been critical of him. The video, shared late Wednesday, features AI versions of public figures like Rosie O'Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, and Robert De Niro.
In the video, an AI version of Trump, identified as "Doctor Trump," states, “Have you or someone you know been diagnosed with TDS?” referencing "Trump Derangement Syndrome." The AI doctor proceeds to outline a treatment plan.
"The symptoms can be relentless,” the AI Trump states in the video. "Fortunately, I’m Doctor Trump, and I have a treatment plan.”
The video also shows AI-generated depictions of the named celebrities appearing to be in treatment. "I really wasn’t sure I could help some of these people,” the AI Trump remarks. "They were so far gone I wasn’t really sure.”
During the video, the AI Trump, wearing a lab coat with "Donald J. Trump, MD" embroidered on it and a stethoscope, advises viewers to "turn off fake news." The recommended treatment includes saying prayers and consuming Diet Coke.
This is not the first instance of Trump using imagery that casts him in a medical or healing role. Earlier this year, he posted an image of himself depicted as Jesus healing the sick, which he later insisted showed him as a doctor. That image had drawn criticism, with some calling it "blasphemous."
Trump's own health has been a subject of discussion, particularly due to observations such as him appearing to doze off during meetings, swollen ankles, and bruising on his hands. The White House has attributed his swollen ankles to chronic venous insufficiency and the bruising to aspirin use and frequent handshaking, stating he is otherwise healthy. Trump has also publicly shared details about undergoing multiple physicals and cognitive tests, which he has stated he passed.
