President Donald Trump described his recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping as a "tremendous visit" yielding "tremendous strides," though specific outcomes remained unclear.
Xi concluded his state visit to the United States with a lavish welcome, including a personal greeting from Trump at Joint Base Andrews and a state dinner at the White House. Trump escorted Xi on a tour of White House features, noting Xi's appreciation for "good granite."
"We've made great strides, very positive for both countries," Trump told reporters at the end of the visit, adding that he and Xi plan to meet twice more before the year's end. He also alluded to potential positive developments in the agriculture sector, stating, "I think our farmers are going to be very happy."
On national security, Trump confirmed discussions regarding the war in Iran, stating, "I think we're going to do great."
