Trump Offers $1 Million for Voter Fraud Tips Leading to Convictions
Former President also labels Brazil's election a "rigged election."
Former President Donald Trump announced Monday he is offering $1 million to anyone whose tips about voter fraud lead to arrests and convictions. The announcement came just eight days before the midterm elections.
"Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud!" Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
Speaking to reporters before departing for a rally in Mississippi, Trump reiterated that he would be issuing a "million-dollar bonus or reward" for such information. This initiative follows a similar announcement last week of a $30,000 bounty for tips leading to fraud charges, which is being managed by the Justice Department.
Trump also commented on the recent Brazilian election, calling the victory of leftist leader Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva "another rigged election." Lula da Silva secured a fourth term in an upset victory. Trump described the election as looking "so corrupt, so terrible" and called a two-hour voting extension "very strange."
Voter fraud charges are rare, though the Justice Department has pursued cases against non-citizens who allegedly registered or voted illegally. In October, 48 such indictments were announced, with 16 more made public on Oct. 12.
While Trump has frequently cited voter fraud as a harm to Republicans, some of his own supporters have faced charges. In July, a 32-year-old Trump supporter received a six-month sentence of house arrest, three years of probation, and $6,200 in fines for voting in both Pennsylvania and Florida in 2020.
