Trump Not Expected to Appear on ESPN's College GameDay

Donald Trump is not expected to make an appearance on ESPN's College GameDay this Saturday, despite rumors that he might join the broadcast desk. The White House confirmed that Trump will be in Knoxville to attend the highly anticipated SEC matchup between No. 1 ranked Texas and No. 14 Tennessee at Neyland Stadium.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 12 p.m. ET, coinciding with ESPN's College GameDay coverage for the first regular season meeting between the two teams. Speculation about Trump's potential involvement on the pregame show intensified due to his reported friendships with some of the show's hosts.

However, sources familiar with the matter told Front Office Sports that Trump is not anticipated to be a guest picker or appear on the program. ESPN reportedly plans to cover his presence by showing footage of him watching the game from a suite.

Previous high-profile figures have made appearances on College GameDay, including Senator Ted Cruz earlier this month. Cruz attended the program in Austin to promote the Protect College Sports Act, but he was met with boos from the crowd.

Trump has attended several major sporting events since returning to the White House, including the World Cup final, the Ryder Cup, and the US Open final. He has also been a notable presence at significant college football games, such as the 2018 national championship, the 2020 LSU vs. Clemson game, and Indiana vs. Miami earlier this year. He has also attended the Army-Navy game multiple times and previously signed an executive order titled 'Preserving America's Game.'

The president will be among the approximately 102,000 spectators at Neyland Stadium for the key SEC matchup.

Following the college football game, Trump is scheduled to serve as the honorary chairman for the Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club near Chicago on Sunday. He previously held this role for the 2017 Presidents Cup in New Jersey.
